**** LIST OF CLASS OFFERINGS ****
Introduction to Zentangle (no prerequisite required) This workshop will introduce you to the exciting world of Zentangle. The beginner will be provided with a background in the history of Zentangle, will be introduced to the basic steps of the method and will be given all the tools necessary to create a tangle. You will create your very own Zentangle tile and will learn a minimum of 4 tangles. You should bring the kit you will be given in this class to any future class.
**** All the following classes are based on the Introduction to Zentangle class and it is a prerequisite for classes below***
String Theory
Strings are the basic "building block" of the Zentangle Method. This basic skill will teach you how to confidently get started on your tile. The class with cover the different shapes of strings and you will practice them with a minimum of 4 new tangles. Bring your kit from the Introductory class. Any new tools needed will be supplied.
Grid Tangles
Many tangle patterns are based on a grid. They are all unique and beautiful. At least 4 new patterns will be taught and incorporated into individual strings. Variations of the grid and shading of the pattern will be explored. Two tiles will be created during the class. Bring your kit from the Introductory class.
Borders and Bijou
Quite a few Zentangle patterns make beautiful borders for use in tiles and make thoughtful birthday cards or thank-you cards. At least 4 of these border patterns will be taught and practiced on a tile. The Bijou tile will be incorporated into the finished 'border tile' with a lovely result. Bring your kit from the Introductory class....any other new tools will be provided.
Tangleations & Enhancers
This class will explore the different directions you can take with tangle patterns. Enhancers give added drama and emphasis to your tangles. And tangleations will be approached with a special exercize that will exhibit the multitude of variations that arise from a single tangle pattern. Bring your kit from the Introductory class.
Shades of Grey
Your patterns will come alive with that final touch of shading with your pencil and tortillion. You will learn that tangles have unique shading options and you will see how they transform your work. Different methods of shading will be taught and practiced. You will learn how to turn a flat tangle into 3-D. Bring your kit from the Introduction class. Additional pencils and tortillions will be available at a minimal cost.
Introduction to Zendalas
This class will introduce the circular Zendala tile. Circular pattern drawing is both relaxing and fun and the results are amazing. One Zendala tile will be provided and we will all complete the same tile as a class. Additional Zendala tiles will be available at a minimal cost.
